Video Final!!!

besides being subpar action star, I can take credit for the music selection as well, Marvin Gaye + Willie Hutch + Quincy Jones = Win.

little trivia about the video: we did the last scene about 4-5 times, because my crew couldn't help but burst into laughter at the video we played "Rejected Cartoons" 4:55, it was also originally about a minute long of our reaction to how stupid the video is. The 2 reasons why we cut it short, the content of video we were watching was borderline offensive, we were not sure if our teacher or fellow classmates would maybe take offense, and also because of my excessive swearing and yelling at my crew when they began to laugh, which is most positively offensive.

Caffine Pills are not a good substitue for sleep...I mean "Skate Deck Final!"

I decided to keep the colours pretty mono, really greytone, because I wanted a sort of 1930's/cartoon-ish feel to it, I added the red on the furthest right robot because I needed a little touch of sinister that would bring the idea across that these guys are not those friendly maid/service robots from the Jetsons...lordy no

Skate Deck Designs

The designs Joe has signed off on, I'm going to work on the second one, and try to incorperate/crop the 2 robot gangsters from the first image to the second image probably.

Cool assignment.

Updating for the first time in a whiiiiile

when i tell people i have 8 classes this first sememster, people think I'm exxagermarating, when in fact, yea, we do have that many classes a week, they tell me I'm "nuts", I ask them "you're finding this now?", fun stuff, I've become addicted to these terrible types of videos made by people in windows movie maker using footage from nintendo games that almost didn't make it onto the market...I guess here is an example...

Toy Project: Phase ,1 Pt. 1

the hardest part is coming up with a solid concept in my opinion, because, everything has been done, I only have 2 solid ideas so far.

  1. Skate Board Guy
  • Names: Olly...ummm yea thats the most original name I could come up with besides skateboard guy.
  • it comes in different deck designs
  • basically has eyes and a mouth on the griptape, arms and legs coming out of him, flimsy ones at that
  • still functions like a normal, teck deck like, skateboard
2. Monopoly Mosters
  • an idea from a friend "make a werewolf businessmen" hahaha
  • so I figured maybe a whole series of them
  • interchangeable heads
  • test model will be the werewolf businessmen
ahh, that about all I have now, I need to quit my job, or tell my boss to hire someone another guy...don't have time for this haha.

doing it at the last minute

...is something I hope i can stop very soon, I really want to quit my job, but I can't, I need to eat :(.

2 changes in my lifestyle this week

the first change wasn't going to be something like "find a new route to school", I can't do that, I would be late to every single starting class. However I did want a change of scenery, so I decided I'd go and check out York Lanes/Student Center
...I'm never eating that crap Pizza Pizza again, I didn't even have a clue that there was a Taco Bell around until I decided to go inside, it's kinda of a subtle change still...eating fast food is eating fast food, but it's only people who go to York who are there...that and some people from Seneca who are actually smart and go to the student center and try to pretend to go to York to get the girls...
but what I'm getting at is you see the difference in the type of people that go to York and the people taking much more enjoyable classes at Seneca...unless Science or whatever they teach at York is more fun to them then doing something actually cool. I noticed how York kids are always rushing to class, to get to the bus, they're always looking at you weird because you have a crazy nice beard, they seem like jerks, where as Seneca kids seem a bit less up tight, they're not running to get to class, or rushing to eat...maybe not the best example, but you see where I'm getting at.

#2
again not something completely life altering...I reverted back to playing sega genesis...
didn't grow up with Mario, I grew up with Sonic. I started playing some of the old games I use to have again, like Golden Axe, MK3, Comic Zone, Vectorman, NHL 94', and then I realized...

why I loved these games, because they're freakin fun. It wasn't because of the great written stories, it wasn't because of the completely realistic bump mapping or awesome gore and blood, it was just because they were really fun, and addictive games. I was playing Comic Zone before I realized I had to finish my blog before Sunday afternoon hahaha. Not a lot of people are making games that are just fun anymore, they need all crazy effects and animations when they should be foucusing more on how the game feels in your hands, how it plays, how fun it is.

Taking Notice

I started paying attention to all the signs I encountered everyday, and I'm not sure counting how many I saw is at all practical so I'll simply say, we're bombarded by signs everywhere, everyday; on the road(STOP),
sitting on the bus (please vacate when asked, push yellow strip to request stop, this bus is driven by a professional),
while eating at York Lanes (no interac! sorry!),
before going into class (No Games, srsly!),
the Learning Commons (again no games people!),
going into the mall (UPPER CANADA MALL),
before going to work (Employees Only!),
In the lunch room before punching into work (SHIFTS POSTED = SHIFTS WORKED)..
you get it yet?
without signs...well how will we know...anything?

wow, I hope Joe likes reading as much as he loves ninjas and one liners.

found this site

I stubbled apon an ad on...some other site for this new extreme yogurt "Fizzix"...those two words together warrant an immediate click.

I get this...

http://www.newfizzix.com/

on further clicking I'm fairly impressed, I think it's got a crazy interface along with great visuals including those "3-D" things that Joe babbles on about as being, "the future in teh internets!" They've got a streaming tv commercial posted here, with their take on the "lightning fast random" fad that seems to be running ramped in TV/pop up flash ads quite recently, taking full advantage of an average tweener/teenager's attention span. It's pretty much nothing we haven't seen before (i.e. Sprite's recent "Sublymonal" web flash video ad campaign.

theres a map you can prompt in the top left corner which will lead you to different parts of the site, including the "Flavour Lab" and something I found interesting, the "Burp Organ", it has a similar feel to an idea I've had in my head as to an application/game I wanted to make for a website of my own, my ideas a bit more complex, but I won't go into much detail now until I've fully developed a plan first. My idea's also similar to the link I have below to my favorite flash game (the 2nd link at the bottom)...

inspiring stuff.

Nioce...

just making this post as a test...I guess, I should be sleeping right now...if...lets say, I was smart.

I have to be up around 5:40ish (am) to get ready to make the bus to make the train to get to video class...which is un-awsome, then I work after class at 5. Grand, grand day.
